Caledonian Record: Blittersdorf Withdraws Kidder Hill Wind Project

LOWELL — Renewable energy developer David Blittersdorf suspended plans today for two large wind turbines on his Kidder Hill property.

Nick Charyk, spokesman for Kidder Hill Community wind, said the developer’s other Northeast Kingdom wind project, on a single large turbine for Dairy Air Farm in Holland, is still seeking a state permit.

One of Vermont's renewable energy pioneers is giving up on his home state — at least for now. David Blittersdorf, founder of Williston-based AllEarth Renewables, is set to announce Wednesday that he is abandoning the Kidder Hill Community Wind project, a two-turbine installation in Lowell and Irasburg. Furthermore, Blittersdorf said he is not pursuing any more wind or solar projects in Vermont.

Kidder Hill Community Wind files petition for installation and operation of two wind turbines with Public Service Board

June 27, 2017 – Kidder Hill Community Wind has submitted a petition to the Vermont Public Service Board requesting permission to install and operate two wind turbines. The turbines would be located on private land in either Lowell or Irasburg or one in each host community, depending on the Towns’ preferences. The Project expects to annually contribute approximately $40,000 in community payments and another $40,000 to the Vermont Education Fund.
